  Combining work and training

The RTA is looking for motivated people who want to learn a trade while working on some of the most important projects in NSW.

As an RTA apprentice, you will combine on-the-job training with study at TAFE towards an accredited trade qualification.

The RTA is a great place to learn a trade, with our projects ranging from maintaining the Sydney Harbour Bridge, to keeping the state’s traffic signals working, to supporting the hard-working teams who keep our roads in good condition.

You will receive strong support from experienced tradespeople and, at the end of your apprenticeship, you will then be eligible to apply to join RTA’s permanent workforce, with great pay, flexible conditions and challenging work.

If you’ve completed Year 10 and are interested in an apprenticeship, the RTA is a great place to begin your working life.
