The M5 East Motorway links Liverpool to Sydney Airport, bypassing more than 20 sets of traffic lights. Local communities benefit from freight and other traffic removed from residential streets.
The M5 East tunnel quickly became a popular facility as cars and freight took advantage of the travel time savings offered by the 4km road tunnel.
