Seaforth Oval access

The RTA commissioned traffic lights at the upgraded intersection of Wakehurst Parkway and Burnt Street in June 2009.  Access into and out of Seaforth Oval is now improved with traffic lights in operation.

Background

The original access into Seaforth Oval in the Garigal National Park is off Wakehurst Parkway.  In conjunction with Manly Council, the RTA improved the access into Seaforth Oval, by providing a new access road and new cross intersection with traffic lights at the intersection of the new access road, Burnt Street at the Wakehurst Parkway.

Key features

  • Signalised intersection (including pedestrian crossings) at Wakehurst Parkway and Burnt Street.
  • New entry/exit point to Seaforth Oval, and removal of the existing entry point.
  • Provision of a dedicated right turn lane and left turn slip lane from Wakehurst Parkway into Seaforth Oval.

Benefits

  • Improved access for motorists.
  • Improved safety for pedestrians.
  • Improved car parking arrangements and access including formalised bus parking.
