Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999
Summary
The Hume Highway duplication has been determined to be a "controlled action" under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). Persons are invited to make comments in writing to the RTA relating to the Hume Highway duplication or the referral information and other information specified by the Minister for Environment and Water Resources. Comments will be received up to Thursday 21 June 2007 at 5pm.
The Hume Highway duplication requires assessment on "preliminary documentation" and approval under the EPBC Act by the Minister for Environment and Water Resources. Under section 95A(3) of the EPBC Act, the RTA is required to publish and make available the referral information and other information specified by the Minister for Environment and Water Resources. This information can be viewed at the following locations:
