The Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) is proposing to realign and reconstruct a one kilometre section of the Pacific Highway, approximately 34km north of Grafton (Shark Creek Stage 3).
A review of environmental factors for this proposal is on display until Friday 17 April 2009.
The community is invited to view and comment on the review of environmental factors for the Shark Creek proposal at the following locations:
- RTA Regional Office
31 Victoria Street, Grafton
Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm. - Clarence Valley Council Office
50 River Street Maclean
Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
The proposed works would join previously upgraded sections of the highway.
The proposed road works would include:
- Improving the existing highway alignment.
- Removing some roadside vegetation including two mature fig trees.
- Widening of the existing road shoulders.
- Widening of existing culverts.
- Reconstructing the existing pavement.
The proposed works would:
- Improved travel conditions for motorists.
- Improve the road surface and highway alignment.
- Improve road safety.
- Enable the existing 80 km/hr speed restrictions within the area to be removed.
Comments from the community will be considered as part of the assessment. The community can provide comment in writing to the project manager.
