Written-off vehicles objectives paper

The Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) is proposing to improve the regulation and management of written-off vehicles (WOV) through an objectives paper.

This paper will contribute to future RTA written-off vehicle policy, business rules and procedures, and inform the development of Regulations for the new Act prior to its commencement as law.

The intent of the new regulatory framework is to further reduce vehicle crime, reduce the possibility of consumer exploitation, and improve road safety.

Involving the community

An objectives paper has been prepared and is the basis for a consultation process aimed at seeking stakeholder views on the proposed new regulatory framework for written-off vehicles.
